Terms and Conditions for Purchasing Refurbished Laptops

General Information

By purchasing refurbished laptops from WV Technologies (Community Laptops), you agree to the following terms and conditions. These terms govern the sale of all refurbished products, including laptops, desktops, accessories, and related items, through our website.

Eligibility

  • You must have legal authority as the authorised card holder to make a purchase on this website.
  • By placing an order, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and complete.

Product Description and Availability

  • All refurbished laptops are tested, restored, and certified to meet performance standards. However, they may show signs of previous use, including cosmetic imperfections and general wear. Batteries are considered consumable items and are covered under a limited 3-month warranty. All other components of the refurbished laptop are covered by a 12-month warranty. Please note that batteries may have less than 80%, but no less than 60%, of their original capacity at the time of sale.
  • Product descriptions, specifications, and images are provided to assist with your purchase decision. WV Technologies (Community Laptops) makes every effort to ensure the accuracy of this information, but we cannot guarantee it is always 100% accurate or up to date.
  • Availability of refurbished laptops is subject to change based on stock levels. WV Technologies (Community Laptops) reserves the right to limit quantities and to discontinue products without notice.

Refurbishment Process

  • Each refurbished laptop is tested, repaired, and certified by our technicians. The refurbishment process includes:
  • Thorough inspection of hardware and software
  • Replacement of defective or outdated components (e.g., battery, screen, keyboard)
  • Installation of a clean operating system and necessary software
  • Final quality check before shipping
  • Laptops may come with minor cosmetic blemishes, such as scratches or dents, but these do not affect the laptop’s functionality.

Pricing and Payment

  • Prices are listed on the website and are subject to change without notice.
  • All prices are inclusive of GST (Goods and Services Tax), unless stated otherwise.
  • We accept payment via credit/debit card, PayPal, or other approved payment methods at checkout.
  • Full payment is required before shipment of any products.

Shipping and Delivery

  • We offer shipping Australia wide. Delivery times may vary based on your location and shipping method chosen.
  • Shipping costs are determined by the destination, package size, and weight. We ship to a variety of countries.

Please note that any additional customs fees or duties are not included in the shipping charges. These costs are the responsibility of the customer and must be paid upon delivery.

Customs policies vary by country, so we recommend checking with your local customs office for details on potential charges before placing an order.

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on delivery address and shipping option.

  • WV Technologies (Community Laptops) is not responsible for delays in delivery caused by third-party couriers, weather, or other uncontrollable factors.
  • Tracking ID is available upon request. Risk of loss or damage to the laptop passes to the customer once the product is handed over to the shipping carrier.

How quickly will my order be shipped?

In most cases, orders are processed and shipped within 1 to 2 business days from our warehouse. However, for bulk orders, processing times may be longer.

Once your order has been dispatched, we will send you an email with tracking details, allowing you to monitor the progress of your delivery.

Please note that we cannot guarantee specific delivery times. If you need an item urgently, we recommend contacting us via email or phone to inquire about processing times before placing your order.

Standard Shipping Delivery Estimates (from our QLD & ACT warehouses):

  • Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne: 2-3 business days
  • Adelaide, Canberra, Darwin, Hobart: 3-5 business days
  • Perth: 7-10 business days

*Delivery times may be longer for regional areas.

Returns and Warranty

WV Technologies (Community Laptops) does not accept return shipments without an RMA number. Packages received without an RMA number may be returned to you at your expense

  • Returns:
  • You may return your refurbished laptop within 30 days of receipt for a full refund or exchange if it does not meet your expectations. All returns must be in their original condition and packaging.
  • Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer unless the product is defective.
  • Unless otherwise stated, all products sold by WV Technologies (Community
    Laptops) are pre-owned and refurbished. Our warranty covers items that are non-functional due to specific hardware faults, including components such as fans, hard drives, keyboards, touchpads, LCD panels, hinges, and USB ports, unless otherwise excluded. Consumable items, like laptop batteries and printer toners, are not covered by the warranty. Batteries are considered used unless otherwise specified. Warranty coverage does not extend to malfunctions caused by software issues, including viruses
    or operating system errors.

Warranty

All refurbished laptops come with a 12 month back to base warranty, covering manufacturing defects and hardware failures under normal use. Warranty details are provided with each product.

  • The warranty does not cover accidental damage, misuse, or damage caused by unauthorised repairs.
  • If a warranty claim is accepted, WV Technologies (Community Laptops) will
    repair or replace the defective item or issue a refund at our discretion.
  • If you encounter a functional issue with your hardware or receive a Dead-on-Arrival (DOA) item, please reach out to us for a Return Authorisation (RA). Items covered under this policy may qualify for free return shipping. Simply contact us with a description of the issue, and we'll assist you further.

Product Support

  • Customer support for refurbished laptops is available through email, sales@communitylaptops.com.au or phone during our business hours on 1300 989 177.
    Support covers general troubleshooting, software setup, and warranty claims.
  • For technical issues outside the scope of basic support, customers may be referred to the manufacturer or a certified repair technician.

Limitation of Liability

  • WV Technologies (Community Laptops) is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use a refurbished laptop purchased from our website, including any loss of data, profits, or business interruption.
  • We are not responsible for any loss or damage that occurs during the shipping or delivery process once the product has left our facility.

 Privacy and Data Protection

  • We collect and process your personal information in accordance with the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998. This includes information necessary to complete your purchase, process payments, and provide customer support.
  • By making a purchase, you consent to the collection, use, and processing of your personal information in accordance with the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998.

 Intellectual Property

  • All content on the WV Technologies (Community Laptops) website, including text, images, logos, and product descriptions, is the intellectual property of Community Laptops or its licensors. You may not use, copy, or distribute any content without express written permission.

Modifications to Terms

  • WV Technologies (Community Laptops) reserves the right to change, update, or amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Any changes will be posted on this page, and the revised terms will be effective immediately upon posting.
  • Your continued use of the website after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

Governing Law

  • These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Australia.
